First Violinist Walter Raupach has passed away in Vernon. Walter was a founding member of the FVS, CSO and the CMO. He was a fine musician and will be very missed by the music community.

Mr. Ivan Pettigrew, Second Oboe (member of the board of directors and a founding member)
On June 19th, the CMO lost a good friend, retired second Oboe, Ivan Pettigrew. A long term orchestra player and member of the Board of Directors, Ivan’s gentle humour and sensible input will be very missed. A talented musician, founding Director of the Songs of Praise Orchestra. Ivan was a Pilot and flying educator.

Mrs. Celia Rogers, Second Flute (past Board Secretary and founding member)
“Celia was truly one of the kindest people I have ever met”. A talented musician who received a full scholarship in Composition at the Royal Academy of Music in London but chose a different path and became the Head Nurse of the Neurosurgery Operating Room at Leeds Hospital. Celia and her husband Derrick were active members of the CMO board and we will miss her gentle presence.

Mr. Bob Dyck, Trombonist (Past President and Founding Member)
My husband Wayne and I both had the pleasure of working with Bob Dyck on the CMO Board of Directors for almost twenty years.
Bob was a true Man of Principle, firm in his beliefs but with a gentle sense of humour which was always ready to rise to the occasion. He never spoke a harsh word, but was ready and willing to help out when there was a need.
Bob was one of the CMO founding members. He is sincerely missed and will always be in our hearts.
